BULK BILLING TO RESUME FROM 1ST JULY 2023

Although the increased Medicare bulk billing incentives announced in the May budget don't come in until November 2023,

SHMG will bulk bill eligible concession card holders and children under 16 for face to face consultations from 1st July, 2023.

​

Telehealth and weekend clinics will continue to be billed privately.

We are a Private Billing Practice.  Most services will incur out of pocket costs.

Fees are payable at the time of consultation by cash, MasterCard, Visa, EFTPOS or Cheque.  Please note that all card payments will attract the merchant (TYRO) surcharge.

An administration charge of $11.00 will apply to any account not settled within 7 days.
Instant Medicare rebates will be processed at the time of payment.

When will we take a deposit?

  • We will take a deposit from all new or inactive patients to confirm booking.   This deposit will be refunded if the consultation is direct billed to Medicare, ie for Concession Card holders.

  • We will take a deposit at the time of booking for all telehealth / telephone consultations.  An invoice will be raised after the consultation and the deposit applied and sent to Medicare claims.


Who will we Direct Bill to Medicare?
From 1st July, 2023 we will direct bill the following for face to face consultations

  • eligible Commonwealth Concession and Health Care card holders

  • DVA Card holders

  • patients over 85 yo

  • children under 16 yo

Who is eligible for the Low Income / Concession rate?

  • Pensioner, Health Care and Seniors Card Holders 

  • Children under 16 years old

  • Patients over 85 yo


Cancelled and missed appointments
We request 2 hours notice of cancellation. 
Any appointment cancelled within 2 hours of the appointment time or not attended will incur a Failure To Attend fee of $65.00 that must be paid before re-booking.

Patients with outstanding invoices will not be able to book appointments.
